Bishop Bosco Visits St Joseph’s Catholic School

Published April 4th, 2025

Last week, we were honoured with a visit from Bishop Bosco, who was appointed as the Bishop of Clifton by Pope Francis last year.

Bishop Bosco led a lovely service for our pupils in which he reflected on our new mission statement: “With God’s love and inspiration, we aspire and achieve excellence.”

He stated that this is more than a statement; it is both a prayer and a promise that helps our children become the best versions of themselves. He emphasised that excellence should refer not only
to success but also to significance, echoing Oscar Romero’s words, “not to have more, but to be more.” As Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Following the service, Bishop Bosco sat down with a group of pupils who had prepared a series of questions to ask him. They asked everything from a question about God’s omnibenevolence and how to be a better person, to which sports team Bishop Bosco would choose to play on! The full interview will be published here on our website soon.

We would like to say a big thank you to Bishop Bosco for taking the time to visit our school, and for delivering a great service that inspired everyone to continue working hard to achieve our best.
