On Monday evening (16th December), our community came together to celebrate our school Christmas carol service.
Families, friends, pupils, staff, and governors were invited to join us for this annual celebration where they were treated to an evening of music, readings, and drama performances by St Joseph’s pupils and staff, as well as a selection of mince pies and mulled wine.
The performances included songs performed by Year 10 pupils and the St Joseph’s Choir, a reading of an excerpt from A Christmas Carol, readings and prayers presented by pupils and members of staff, and everyone in attendance came together to sing classic Christmas carols. We were also joined by Deacon Steve Godwin for a motivational final prayer and blessing.
Mr Inglis, who runs the school’s Chaplaincy group, also talked about our support of Salisbury Foodbank and our ‘Gifts for Gravy’ campaign. On a recent visit to the foodbank, we learnt that as they provide Christmas meals for over 200 families in the area, they often run out of gravy – so we’ve been raising funds to help make people’s Christmas dinners the best they can be!
Thank you to Mr Inglis, Mr Blakey, and all of the St Joseph’s staff who were involved in making the evening run smoothly. Next year, we’re thrilled that we’ll have the opportunity to present our carol service at St Osmund’s Church, Salisbury!
