Last week, our outgoing Year 11 cohort gathered in the hall with their families to receive GCSE certificates and special awards.
There was a lovely atmosphere as pupils and teachers were reunited. The evening began with refreshments, lots of catching up, and current pupils showed previous Year 11s what has changed around the school site since they left in the summer.
Special Awards
The awards evening kicked off with the presentation of special awards, which were as follows:
Head Student & Deputy Head Student Awards – Thomas D, Georgia R, Darcie I and Melba B
“For their fundraising efforts for the school, updating the school uniform policy to include skorts, working towards a greater ranger of extra-curricular opportunities for students, and leaving a legacy of action and compassion for others.”
Southwood Trophy – Thomas B
“For determination, dedication, and positivity.”
Endeavour Shield – Poppy L
“For one of our strongest and most resilient students who has been dealt so many challenges but has worked through them with cheerfulness and a refusal to be anything but her best self. One of the founding members of the Inclusivity Alliance, her contribution has made St Joseph’s a warmer, more caring and inclusive place.”
The Hambly Trophy for Academic Achievement – Lauren R
“For living out the core values of St Joseph’s through her hard work, dedication to excellence and contribution to all parts of school life. Her academic achievements have been consistent across all areas of the curriculum, and she has the drive and tenacity to be an absolute success on whatever she chooses to do.”
The O’Boyle Maths Prize – Georgia R
“For determination to achieve the grade needed for the next stage, improving by three grades over the year.”
The Salisbury Catenian Cup – Lauren R
“For outstanding achievement in her GCSEs and in recognition of her dedication to preparing well for her school examinations.”

All pupils in attendance were then presented with and signed for their GCSE certificates.
A huge well done to every single pupil who received an award, achieved their GCSE grades, and have moved onto post-16 life. We’re so proud and excited for you all, and we’re sure you’ll go on to do great things!
