RSHE
RSHE stands for Relationships, Sex & Health Education.
As part of their RE lessons, all year groups are taught RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) using the Life to the Full programme, provided specifically for Catholic schools by Ten Ten.
What is Life to the Full?
Life to the Full is an RSHE programme based on statutory Department of Education guidance. The programme is rooted in a Christian understanding of the human person provided by the Catholic Education Service. It is inclusive and recognises everyone as an individual.
The teaching includes lessons on puberty, personal hygiene, fertility, menstruation, family and friends, an understanding of the body, sexuality, marriage, gender, online relationships, social media, consent, grooming, pressure, STIs, contraception, abortion/miscarriage, drugs and alcohol, pornography, and sexual exploitation.
Parent Portal - Access to Ten Ten Resources
Following the consultation with parents in May 2021, we believe you will find it useful to access to the resources we'll be using in our teaching of RSHE. We have made access available to all parents/carers of St Joseph's children through the online Parent Portal.
The portal provides you with information about the programme children will be following, access to resources, and suggestions for further activities at home. Resources include:
- An overview of the Life to the Full programme
- Guidance for parents on the content of lessons
- Activities that can be undertaken at home to support the delivery of the programme
To access the portal:
- Click here to access the portal.
- You will need to log in using the username and password emailed to you in May 2021, or contact Mr Blaho-Schlogl (Head of RE) for the details.
- Click on 'Enter Secondary Schools'.
- Scroll down and choose a year group from the left-hand side to see relevant notes and resources.
Parent Consultation Tool
The Ten Ten Parent Consultation Tool has short units that you can dip in and out of as you wish. It is intended to introduce you to the ‘Life to the Full’ programme and help you best support your child’s social, moral, cultural and spiritual education. The units include:
- Vision: This will help you understand the vision and purpose of the ‘Life to the Full’ programme.
- Overview: This will give you an overview of the structure and broad content of the programme from Year 7 to Year 11.
- First Educators: This will explore the ‘first educator’ role of parents, and the ways in which this programme supports that role through the Online Parent Portal.
- FAQs: Answers to lots of the questions which parents may have about the programme.
Got a Question?
Please get in touch with Mr Blaho-Schlogl (Head of RE) if you have any questions or experience any difficulties gaining access to the programme.
