Every week, our staff send in their submissions for the Happiest Minute of the Week. These can be anything from a whole class behaving well, to the small and kind gestures that make someone’s day!
All of these Happiest Minutes are then presented to the whole school every Friday by Mr Ford and Mr Bartel (or pupils who volunteer to host!) in the weekly rewards raffle.
As part of our ethos here at St Joseph’s, we love to share kindness, gratitude and positivity. So without further ado, here are this week’s nominations for Happiest Minute of the Week!
Happiest Minutes of the Week
Mrs Oakley:
- Earlier this year, the Ministry of Defence ran a competition for all Military Children in the UK and NI to commemorate the Month of the Military Children. SMM (9T) won in his category (13–16) with a poem about his life as a Military Child, titled “The Tropical child – for the Queen and Country”. Winners are going for a lunch at Whitehall, where SMM will have a chance to read his poem to invited guests and his poem will be up for display. SMM and the winners from other categories have also been invited to visit the Houses of Parliament.
Mrs Nobis:
- 20 pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 for representing the school so well on Tuesday in the student panel for PSHE. Thank you and well done!
Mrs Reynolds:
- All the pupils that attended the COP22 Symposium at Godolphin School on Tuesday for their amazing behaviour and concentration.
Miss Ryder:
- Mrs Hodge for always smiling and lifting peoples spirits!
Mrs Rooney:
- TC (9F) who is always an absolute delight whenever I see her around school – so polite and friendly all the time 🙂
- Well done to DB (8T) for consistent hard work and good attitude in Geography lessons.
Mrs Hansford:
- DY (9F) for smashing his spelling test and then having a fantastic English lesson where he put in his best effort and took pride in his newspaper report!
- JB (10T) for smashing his spelling test and being modest about it when I asked who got 10/10!
Mrs Miles-Parratt:
- AF (8T) for outstanding effort in Maths this week.
Mr Bartel:
- PS (8M) for challenging his lack of question mark on a title.
- FH (10M) and Mrs Marshall – Mrs Marshall for sharing FH’s Inspector Calls essay with me, and FH for smashing that essay. Big GCSE grade coming if you keep that standard up.
- IW (8T) and NN (8V) for awesome Raffle hosting last week.
- RH (11F) for being the most polite, honest, and considerate Year 11 I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with.
- CN (9T) for a stunning description of the House system to the group she was touring outside my office.
- VJ (7M) for always being so polite and smiley.
Mrs Jones:
- OD (10F) for carrying a heavy bag of books from the car park into school for me 🙂
- 7HA History for excellent work in their recent assessment. Extra special mention to AN (7T), for coming top in class!
- 8HA History for their amazing commitment to learning-all-round superstars! 8C History, for trying so hard, special mention to JB (8V) and GW (8F).
- 9BX and 9C History, for excellent work in their recent assessment. Special mention to CG, EH, FR, JM (9F), AS and AQ (9V) for being absolute superstars.
Mr Ball:
- TD (10F) for winning Salisbury Schools Cross Country.
- JG (10T) for beating his brother OF (10F) (again) in the above Schools Cross Country.
Mrs Nobis:
- MK (10T) for working really hard and smashing it out of the (Sociology) park!
- TB (9F) and SK (9M) for being decent and lovely by cleaning down the tables in the canteen.
Mrs Rose:
- MK (10T) for engaging really positively in our weekly intervention sessions.
Mr Rooney:
- 20 pupils from 7F, 9F, 9M, 9T, 9V, 10V, and 10M for being brilliant tour guides on Thursday morning – all the parents sang your praises! Also, the Year 11 pupils who helped to relocate chairs back to their classrooms this morning before school started – absolute stars! So many of you ended up helping I didn’t spot you to name you all!
SS, 9F:
- LL and MA (11V) for being kind and caring and making me laugh.
Next week is a 3-day week before we finish for half term, so I hope you all have a great and relaxing break!
