Every week, our staff send in their submissions for the Happiest Minute of the Week. These can be anything from a whole class behaving well, to the small and kind gestures that make someone’s day!
All of these Happiest Minutes are then presented to the whole school every Friday by Mr Bartel and Mr Ford (or pupils who volunteer to host!) in the weekly rewards raffle.
As part of our ethos here at St Joseph’s, we love to share kindness, gratitude and positivity. So without further ado, here are this week’s nominations for Happiest Minute of the Week!
Happiest Minutes of the Week
Mr Valjak:
- AH (8V) for always trying hard and showing an insightful understanding of the effects of confession.
- BM (10V) for his increased confidence in sharing his excellent understanding in Religious Education.
Ms Shuttleworth:
- AF (8T) for making the right choice in history resulting in some excellent work. More of the same please!
Mrs Nobis:
- LW (10M) for being polite and trying really hard in Sociology this week.
- Year 10 Sociologists deserve a shout out for being focussed, mature and decent as we look at complex social issues.
Mrs Pearson:
- I would like to say a huge thankyou to Mr Wilkinson for his help in First Aid.
Mrs Evans:
- Mrs Jones for always being a ray of sunshine.
- IM (7V), KC (7T) and AP (7F) for quietly working hard.
- CL, JE (8F), CW, ES, AM (8M), and CF (8T) for being IT geniuses when tackling the new Design project. Well done!
Mrs Maher:
- MW (7F) for her enthusiasm in English.
- All of 9HA for just being fab.
- JB (10T) for a GREAT lesson on Thursday.
- CL (10V) and VG (10V) for smashing every lesson.
- JW (11M) for his reaction to his reading age – “I am the happiest man alive!”
- MW (11M) for showing his true capabilities.
- EL (11M) for his commitment (and generally hassling me) to get his CV sorted so he can apply for jobs.
- Miss MacFarlane for the bird in the basket.
- English department for dressing gowns, PJs, and dogs!
Mr Rooney:
- ALL the pupils (far too many to name everyone!) who have been happily recalling the 3 words from assembly as I ask them around school! And in doing so proving the theory that retrieving knowledge isn’t as difficult as you think! Special mention to NO (8M) who proudly tells me the words and meanings every time I see her! SP (8V) too!
- All of 11C RE – Brilliant learning this week – special mention to HD for sharing his unique insights on the Jewish religion!
Mrs Hansford:
- SMS (7M) and PT (7T) for writing beautiful pieces of description in English today.
- ZA and MS (8T) for being brave enough to answers a question in English today.
- CG (9F), JW, and HW (9T) for being helpful and working hard during my cover lesson of Spanish on Thursday!
Mr Bartel:
- All of Year 7 Dance – Amazing effort and performances. Especially EH (7V), OW (7F), HT (7V) and RB (7T) for the way they led their groups.
- ES (8M) for always being incredibly kind and polite.
Mrs Cooper:
- AG (7V) for being very mature and helping the supply teacher with his register and knowing which children were missing!
Mr Sibley:
- I would like to begin a section of the Friday shout outs where I nominate a student who I feel has been the best cook or ‘Chef of the week’. This week, my nomination is SG (7T) for her amazing coleslaw that would not look out of place in a high-end restaurant. Well done!
