overview

Pupils will be introduced to PE in Year 7, developing the skills they learnt in KS1 and KS2. They will learn key skills in gymnastics, dance, and a range of sports including rugby, football, tennis, athletics, cricket, rounders and more. They will continue to expand and develop these skills throughout KS3.

They will then have the option to study GCSE PE, where they will develop their knowledge,
understanding, skills and values which will maintain pupil performance in physical activities while gaining understanding of the benefits of health, fitness and wellbeing.

There is also an option to study GCSE Dance, a well-established and popular course at St Joseph’s. This subject encourages pupils to develop their creative, physical, emotional and intellectual capacity, whatever their previous experience.
