Happiest Minute of the Week: 16–20th January 2023

Published January 20, 2023

Every week, our staff send in their submissions for the Happiest Minute of the Week. These can be anything from a whole class behaving well, to the small and kind gestures that make someone’s day!

All of these Happiest Minutes are then presented to the whole school every Friday by Mr Bartel and Mr Ford (or pupils who volunteer to host!) in the weekly rewards raffle.

As part of our ethos here at St Joseph’s, we love to share kindness, gratitude and positivity. So without further ado, here are this week’s nominations for Happiest Minute of the Week!

Happiest Minutes of the Week

Mrs Sheeley:

  • RG (7M) for being a kind and caring member of our school community whilst helping a fellow pupil who was in need. Very proud tutor.

Mr Brown:

  • TS (11T) for kindly giving me chocolate when chocolate was needed 🙂

  • CK (7T) for his amazing dancing and for trying super hard in English.
  • KA (7M) for wonderful effort in English lessons recently.
  • MS (10F) and BM (10V) for a great diary entry in English.

  • Mrs Shuttleworth for the drama and the laugh!

  • 7BY for a GREAT attitude towards reading.
  • JW (8V) for a fantastic effort with writing a gothic opening.
  • MR (9T) for his honesty with regards to 9HA’s silence.
  • RW (9V) for coming to English with a smile on his face EVERY lesson!
  • CM (10T) for her absolutely brilliant laugh!
  • JR (11M) for excellent pre-mock focus and revision.

Mr Inglis:

  • SR (9V), FRJ (9M) for both absolutely smashing their first GCSE assessment in RE. Well done!

Mr Rooney:

  • Fabulous representation of the school from the following pupils who spoke to our visitors who were in on Wednesday – they thought you were brilliant! CM, LR (10T), RW (9V), CN, MR (9T), TO (8V), BJ, (8T), OC (7M), BF (7F)
  • EO (10V) for sticking in all his loose sheets in his science exercise book and passing the shake test! Keep your work organised kids!
  • FW (11V) for acknowledging that Mr Bartel is a “Poundland Mr Rooney” when it comes to suits.

Mr Bartel:

  • Mrs Maher for finding a tutee, asking if they needed her and escorting her to an exam while providing a pep talk.
  • Miss Moss for saying I look like I have lost weight. I haven’t but I’ll take it.
  • KS, JR, CB (11M), and TH (11T) for saying my new suit looked smart.

Miss O’Grady:

  • A massive thank you to Mrs Inglis for the wonderful cake she baked to celebrate the successful completion of my Masters degree.  It was totally unexpected and I will never forget her thoughtful gesture.
  • CL (8M) for delivering a coherent and articulate definition of the word “concentric” in science class earlier this week.
  • LG (8F) who had the good humour to answer two further questions when I pushed him to refine his answer about magnetism.  It is wonderful to see his confidence in science this year; I know it is down to him making the decision to engage in lessons, put in the effort and work hard, so very well done!

Mr Sibley:

  • CW (8M) for his fantastic mini quiches that were very consistent and beautifully made!
