Every week, our staff send in their submissions for the Happiest Minute of the Week. These can be anything from a whole class behaving well, to the small and kind gestures that make someone’s day!
All of these Happiest Minutes are then presented to the whole school every Friday by Mr Bartel and Mr Ford (or pupils who volunteer to host!) in the weekly rewards raffle.
As part of our ethos here at St Joseph’s, we love to share kindness, gratitude and positivity. So without further ado, here are this week’s nominations for Happiest Minute of the Week!
Happiest Minutes of the Week
Mrs Inglis:
- LC (7M), JN (7T), MML, BJ, AR (8T), AO and RW (9V) for their maturity and confidence in representing the school at Anti-bullying Ambassador training on Tuesday. Miss Moss and I had a really informative day with these students, and they were confident sharing ideas with each other, and the other schools represented.
Mr Inglis:
- MK (10T) for standing up for her fellow students when she saw something that was not alright.
Mr Valjak:
- EH (7V) for confidently sharing her knowledge about internet safety.
- All of 11T (and the rest of Y11 as well I suppose) for their brilliant attitude to learning on Wednesday here in school.
Mr Corson:
- My happiest moment of the week has to be the brilliantly insightful feedback JL (9M) gave while having a class discussion about Brecht and Political Realism in Theatre. His development in Drama as a subject is amazing and his passion for theatre and philosophy is really shining through!
Mrs Barratt:
- TB (7V) for amazing work on dictionary skills.
- ER (8V) for great recall of AR verbs endings.
- JE (11T) for great work with the conditional tense.
- You all made great learning legends this week!
Mr Sibley:
- This week’s Chef of the Week is ASP (7V) for her excellent knife skills and pasta salad that received a GM in her assessment!
Mr Ford:
- Mr Wilkinson for taking the time to let me know what a delight my Y10 BTEC class were to cover yesterday. They will be rewarded!
- Mrs O’Grady whose impassioned, unprompted speech about her form group and the emotional attachment she feels to her students made me incredibly proud to work at St Joseph’s.
- Year 11 for the excellent footwear on display today. It makes me very happy that sneaker culture has arrived at St Joseph’s.
- Special mention to WG (11T) whose Carhartt jacket / Dark Mocha Jordan 1 combo is an unquestionable 10 out of 10.
Mr Cutler:
- 8C for completing their History Test in Silence on Thursday.
Mr Bartel:
- ARG (10M), RB, IK (10V), JK (10F) and HE (10T) for defying the odds in challenging circumstances to romp to victory.
- AS (10V) for his nutmeg. SR (9V) for putting an absolute shift in during his football session.
- 9HA English, but particularly MR (10T), for saving me with their knowledge of protagonists and antagonists.
- OE (11F) for crushing DoE in/with his wellies.
Mrs Hansford:
- JP (10V), ARG (10M), and SM (10T) for trying really hard on their English assessment.
- CFB (9T) for working very hard despite some turbulence during our lesson today!
- VJ (7M) for smashing her spelling test last week.
