Weekly Update: Week 2 (13.09.24)

Published September 13, 2024

It’s been brilliant having a full week of school for the first time since July! The pupils are settling into the school routines well and are keen to learn and progress. There is a lovely calm, settled and purposeful environment around St Joseph’s.

Uniform

We’re very happy with how the pupils have responded to the focus we have had on uniform this week – hoodies are now non-existent in school and jewellery has also reduced significantly. Thank you for your support with this. We will continue to focus on different aspects of uniform each week. Please may I remind pupils and parents/carers of our high expectations on uniform and if unsure, please refer to this guide.

Homework & Satchel One

Homework timetables are now published on the school website here.

Forgotten Details

If your child has forgotten their Satchel One login details, they can use the Microsoft Office sign in option instead.  Please see this help sheet for screenshots on how to do so.

Year 11 Mocks

We’re delighted with how Year 11 have tackled their mock examinations this week. There has been an air of calm and positivity around the hall and we’re very much looking forward to seeing how they have performed in these mocks. Well done Year 11!

Following the exams, towards the end of the half term on Thursday 17th October at 6pm, we will be holding a mock exams results reveal evening.  Parents and pupils will be invited to attend St Joseph’s to receive their results (these will not be given out in lesson time) replicating the experience that they will have in August with the real results.  During this evening, we will also be outlining the Year 11 programme for the year and how we, as a school, will do all we can to support you and your child through this very important, and sometimes stressful, year.

Meet our New Headmaster & Information Evenings in the School Hall

This week Year 7 and Year 8 had their Meet our New Headmaster and Information Evenings in school. It was great to welcome everyone back and to share the exciting developments for the year ahead.

Next week we will be hosting evenings for Year 9 & 10 and will be sharing year group specific information. These evenings will be an excellent opportunity for you to know all about the programme for the year for your child and important dates and events to be aware of as well as support and help on offer.  They will be led by Mr Higgins, our new Headmaster and your child’s Head of Year.

This Thursday, we will host Year 9 at 4:00pm and Year 10 at 5:30pm. Please confirm your attendance by clicking the appropriate link:
