Happiest Minute of the Week: 4th–8th March 2024

Published March 8th, 2023

Every week, our staff send in their submissions for the Happiest Minute of the Week. These can be anything from a whole class behaving well, to the small and kind gestures that make someone’s day!

All of these Happiest Minutes are then presented to the whole school every Friday by Mr Bartel and Mr Ford (or pupils who volunteer to host!) in the weekly rewards raffle.

As part of our ethos here at St Joseph’s, we love to share kindness, gratitude and positivity. So without further ado, here are this week’s nominations for Happiest Minute of the Week!

Happiest Minutes of the Week: 11th–15th March 2024

From the Dance Live students:

  • Mrs Blake, Mr Ford, Mrs Rooney, Hatti, Miss Moss and Miss Clark for being incredible teachers and pushing us to do our absolute best we wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without you. You are all incredible.

Mrs Nobis:

  • Mr Ollivierre for staying out on the bus duty to end all bus duties (Tuesday) to support Mrs Nobis and to release another member of staff who was unwell, and JT (10V) and SW (10T) who worked brilliantly in a Science cover lesson Monday.

Mrs Furness:

  • My happiest moment of the week has been working with 9EN-BY on their dystopian societies. They have been full of brilliant ideas. I can’t wait to read their stories!

Mr Bartel:

  • The Dance Live Team:
    • All the students were so impressive. So proud to be part of your school and see that performance. Equally proud that you quite rightly won the award for being the best school there in terms of your behaviour, conduct, care for others and attitude. Wonderful young people and sensational ambassadors for our school. You really did yourselves and us proud.
    • Miss Moss, Miss Clark, Mrs Rooney, Mr Ford and Hatti for helping people be the best version of themselves.
    • Mrs Blake – Every fire needs a spark, fuel and air and you gave this blazing fire everything you’ve got. We are so lucky to have you.
  • CL, AL, RA, ER (9F) for their incredible series of passes in Ultimate Frisbee. Stunning progress.
  • SS (10F) for being so happy about my World Book Day costume.

Mr Sibley:

  • The happiest moments of my week have to be the year 11 food exams. The students (RB, EG, SH, JP, EW (11V), CF, OK, MS (11F), KL, CL, ARG, LW (11M), MR, BR (11T)) have blown me away with their professionalism and quality of dishes and all deserve Paul Hollywood–style handshake from me. Remember this is only a small part of their final GCSE qualification and they all need to be as good at their revision as they have been at their cooking!

Mr Rooney:

  • Rob Adams for supervising the car wash team this week!  You’re an absolute star!
  • Mrs Blake, Mr Ford, Miss Moss, Miss Clark, Mrs Rooney for all their efforts and hard work making Dance Live happen! All the Dance Live Crew for an emotional and amazing performance!  And for bringing home 3 awards!!! Absolutely brilliant!

  • Year 9 Drama and PE for their independent working yesterday!
  • All of 10D RE, 11HA RE and 10C RE for being super classes to teach – it’s always a pleasure teaching you!
